We have a serious problem, people. It’s called power. We don’t have it. We don’t want it. We think it’s dirty and bad.
The people who read my books and show up at my talks are the good people – people who are motivated by wanting to do good, fighting against bad things, and creating beauty in the world, people who at a deep level aren’t primarily motivated by money and power. I tell them they need to go to business school or law school. I say this metaphorically, since obviously there is more than one path to power.
I don’t care how you get there. An MBA, a JD, a legit hustler mentality. Whatever works for you. I’m just saying: it is a moral imperative for good people to get power.
